Since 1920 Panhandle Professional Writers d/b/a Texas High Plains Writers has fostered writing by supporting writers from all backgrounds and experience. We hold bi-monthly meetings to socialize and educate, foster critique groups, sponsor writing contests, and present an annual youth writing conference.
We strive to educate and encourage each other while we serve the community by promoting learning and literacy. Although "professional" is our middle name, not all of our members are published or make their living in the writing game. Our aim is to help everyone achieve a level of professionalism in whatever writing they enjoy.
On this site, you'll find our history and news, programs and people.
