Online Group

PPW now has an online group. Membership in the organization is required to
participate. Discussion of writing and exchanging of ideas are the normal fare in
this group. Members joining may get information for how to participate in this
added benefit at the time of application or email
Suzanne. We have some
members who live at some distance and cannot make the regular meetings who
participate solely in an online capacity.

There is also an online group which meets on the side to exchange critiques of
various things they are writing, and a small group that discuses poetry.

Every member who has an email address is also included in an announcement
group. This is a secure group where your email address cannot be obtained,
and no one may access the group to send a message except the officers.
Members are encouraged to share announcements that come through this
group with members that do not have online access.

The following is a list of acceptable items to post to the announcements
list:
  • Book signings

  • Upcoming events (Workshops involving our members, speaking
    engagements, etc.)

  • Call for submissions

  • Serious illness or death of a member or a member's family
The following are NOT acceptable for either the announcements
list or the on-line group list.
  • Political meetings or information

  • Religious meetings or comments (exception would be groups like
Inspirational Writers Alive or a similar writing group)

The on-line group is designed to help writers learn more about the craft of
writing and publishing.
It is not intended as a chit-chat line or a platform for
personal agendas.

The following are acceptable topics for the on-line group:
  • Questions regarding writing.

  • Research questions.

  • References for editors, agents and publishers.

Anyone on the on-line group list may post his questions or responses to the
group. However, postings to the announcements loop are handled by Suzanne
Allen or her back-up Gail Shelton. Announcements should be sent to Suzanne.
Anyone else who might have access to the postings, should respect Suzanne's
position and send announcements to her.
Thank you for your consideration and support.
